Sometimes, but this depends on the destination you’re visiting.
In some destinations, you will be required to pay a tourist tax on arrival at your hotel. This is usually a sum of money charged by local tourism authorities to generate income for tourism and environmental purposes.
These taxes or fees are not included in the cost of your holiday because they are charged locally.
How much will it cost me?
The amount you’ll have to pay depends on:
- the destination you are visiting
- the type of accommodation you have booked
- how long you are staying for
- how many people are visiting (usually charged per person)
However, as taxes like these are set locally, often with little notice, they can fluctuate, so please contact your hotel directly to find out how much you’ll need to pay.
